Hi Andrey, thanks for your review! You wrote One of the surprises concerning the guitars used for certain songs through this tour and their tuninig, is the appearance of Bluey strat on Let's Dance. Chris usually played this song with Pinky strat which is always in open E, while Bluey was always in s...
Hi all, for the first time in history we are able to have legal and good sounding recordings of (nearly) all gigs of the last tour. I'd like to buy a few of the mp3 recordings and would like to know which concerts were - in your opinion - the best ones. I already have the Sheffield recording and was...
Hi, I was very surprised to see him play "On The Beach" (e.g. in Dortmund) on Pinky- because this guitar used to be in Open E Tuning (and still seems to be because he played Stainsby Girls and RTH on it) - but On The Beach has no slide guitar and he used to play it on his blue Stratocaster...
BTW: does anyone know any details about the guitar he played during "On The Beach"? It was a red strat-like guitar (but not a Fender I think) with a matt black pickguard and also a black headstock. The color of the the body was red - looked like fiesta red to me.
Setlist.fm showed 90's Blues as opener of one of 1993 gigs, when all the setlists for that tour were identical and started with Soft Top film theme and guitar improvisation before Auberge song. At least in Berlin on 6th Mar 1993 Chris unfortunately didn't play "Looking For A Rainbow" - th...
Hi all, the "BZ" writes rubbish - as usually. Setlist was: The Last Open Road Long Gone Where the Blues Come From Josephine Easy Rider 'Til the Morning Sun Shines on My Love and Me Julia Looking for the Summer Stony Road Come So Far, Yet Still So Far to Go Somewhere Between Highway 6...
Thanks Andrew and Ann for your thoughts and correction - sorry guys, my mistake - I didn't see Chris' name on the imagem webpage :? I can't believe that Warner treats Chris' back catalogue with such ignorance. Most fans of Chris are in their fourties / fifties and belong to a certain peer group that...
Hi all, during his commercially successful years Chris was signed to Magnet and the distribution was done by Warner / eastwest (at least in Germany). After his second illness he signed with edel and founded his own label. Later he came back to Warner and his previous albums were distributed by Rhino...
I was also a bit disappointed about Max' performance. He seemed to be fast asleep most of the time and played much slower and not as sophisticated he used to. Maybe he is suffering from some health problems?
Thanks for the reviews! It was the same in Berlin: most of the people only recognized "Josephine" when Chris already had played about one minute - and even Road To Hell got applause after the intro - strange fans... I was nearly jumping off my chair when Chris played "It's All Gone&qu...
Hi all, just got back from the concert and would like to share a few thoughts about the gig. The band started at 8pm with "Last Open Road" from the new album. I was very pleased to see Max back in the band! The songs: The Last Open Road Work Gang Where The Blues Come From Josephine Easy Ri...
Hi all, I think this may be the most interesting tour since the early 90s - I'm curious! :D 1. Robert Ahwai will be missed - of course - he has been an integral part of the band and has been working with Chris for more than 25 years now! Still I think Anthony Drennan is not only a superb guitar play...
