The Old Days

Post by arthurwilkins »

Hi Chris,
Not just a fan, but go back a long way to Middlesborough.
I was a sales Rep based in Hull selling Vegetable Oisl and Fat and supplied your Fathers Ice Cream business.
I did also see you in those days this would be about 1964/1966 The company was John L Seaton later taken over by Croda.
I can clearly remember where the business was in Boro.
Its funny but the other person I remember from those days was in Manchester again selling fats & oils to Bookbinders bakery in Cheatam Hill Road, and Mr Bookbinders daughter was Elkie Brooks.
Both yourself & Elkie Brooks have "The Voice"

Best Wishes
Arthur Wilkins

Hi Arthur
I think it's safe to say you go back futher than all of us in your knowledge of Chris !
Do you remember meeting Chris or hearing him practise in those days ?
This would have been when he just started to play guitar !
THanks for sharing this.
Jim

Hi Jim,
Many thanks for your reply.
Unfortunatley I didnt hear him practice in those early days, although I do remember the location and his father and on several occasions seeing Chris. I suppose as a rep I was most interested in getting an order!!!
I have all his work and love it and will always be a fan.
Does Chris ever get back to his old haunts in Middlesborough?

Kind Regards,
Arthur
