my 'best of Chris Rea'

Post by Chris »

I pick both: 'old' as well as 'new' songs because (come to think about it) there is not that much of a difference between them (I already presented my point of view on that in other parts of this forum.) I think that once we take out the extra machine-generated beat, electronic 'cracks' and extra drums, we'll have a very slow melodic sound. Most of them become pure blues ballads!
Here's my list:
1. "It's all gone" (sail away, there's nothing for your here now....live version from Montreux Jazz Festival)
2. "Hello friend" (live version from Montreux)
3. "Midnight Blue" (the song about suit; either original version or the live one from Montreux)
4. "Windy town" (yeah, I recall, I remember it all)
5. "Josephine" (the French 'extended' version)
6. "Angellina" (each empty glass of hope waiting to be filled with some kind of love)
7. "American Way" (a very socially carrying song)
8. "Candles" (wrote for Poland in transition from communism to democracy)
9. "Still Beautiful" (a very nostalgic love song)
10. "E" (tell me, what's so wrong with 'E'?)
