Hi Bart,

I am well, I hope your holiday was as good as mine.

Now back at the coalface.

A question for you, has your forum ever been this busy when you have been away, or when official CR news has been this low?

Regards,

Peter S...

I don;t know that expression, but I guess it means something like "and now back to work..." am I correct?

I guess not, although it has been busy before at unrational moments (without news, etc)... Great to see, although it means I have to get somethiong done about my bandwith. My hostingprovider tells me I cannot expand my contract so I have to go look for something else...
Oh well, great to see so many friends around...

Hi there,
I was in Cookham back in April and was talking to a gal in a pub. She says Chris and his wife sold their big house once the girls moved out but they are 'still in the area' though 'Chris is always hush hush about where he lives'. He is still in the Maidenhead region though.. She also told me Chris still 'commutes' to the Old Mill studio where he rents space to rehearse and record. This seems true since she made a post on entertainment.timesonline.co.uk regarding his concert at the Royal Albet Hall:

I loved the live performance of Chris Rea at The new Theatre in Oxford on Sunday last. He was electric. We loved him. But then I am biased as I live in his old recording studio, The Sol Mill, in the river town of Cookham, and have heard Chris rehersing in my garden shed for the past twelve months for this tour. God bless that man.

By the way - if you ever get a chance to go to go to Cookham it is stunning!!! I did a 12 mile deathhike up and down the river and the toured the town and dropped by the Old Sol Mill. I could easily live in this town. It is quiet, clean, friendly, gorgeous with the river and pathways through the fields. No wonder Chris liked living there. It is also quite apparent that it takes big bucks to live there - lots of NICE houses.

Ciao,
Jenn
