it was clever move from Chris and showed some of the adaptation is needed, but of course he could still mix the setlist even more.

Yes put Wintersong in it MRB!
I don't think he will though, Best hits or something like that is the subtitle of the Tour. But it is the best Tour since 2008!

not to mention it was supposed to be the farewell tour years back, now it seems to be neverending farewell tour ;)

well, many seems to do a farewell tours and the best are almost releasing a news about new tour during the farewell tours. Saw B.B. King´s farewell tour around same time Chris had his, also Clapton told years back it would be his last tour, which was not true. Quite a lie to use such title for a tour.

As long as he can and enjoys it, I hope to see him again!
Even with the same setlist. I know every song, so at least I can sing it along :)
It would be cool if he tours again in 2016, ten years after quiting.

ultimate thing seems to be a tour after death, Elvis for example, screen shows him singing and a live band plays with him....now that is something I don´t get.....

Bromo wrote:Hello,

I will taking a short holiday to London from New Jersey and luckily it matches up nicely with Chris Rea's show at the Hammersmith Apollo on the 20th. It'll be my first time seeing him in concert! Would someone be able to tell me what kind of merchandise is available at the gigs on this tour? I am particularly interested in if there is a concert poster available? I like to collect posters from gigs that I go to.

Thomas
Hello Thomas,

I can't remember tourposters, but other items like tshirts, mugs are there most of the time and tourbooks.
And the guitar memory stick with the gig on it. Download the last part at home.

Hi Bromo and others,

I have bumped into numerous lots with Last Open Road Tour posters on Ebay UK. I assume they are not for sale officially but could be easily purchased nevertheless. Just google Chris Rea Concert 2014 on Ebay. Hope that helps.

Another way of obtaining one is asking at the desk of the Hammersmith Apollo. But a day before you go... if possible.
I heard some people did that and succeeded. But London is a big town. Amsterdam is small ;)

Hi everyone,

an amazing comment found by a pen friend on Facebook or YouTube:

“A nice touch last night was when Chris pointed to various parts of the the theatre and told the audience where abouts he was sitting when he came to see Van Morrison, Bruce Springsteen et al. at the City Hall, oh yes, and the car broke down on the way back from the Springsteen concert !”

So, finally, at least Newcastle audience saw some interaction from Chris being on stage!
It proves once again Newcastle City Hall is a very special venue for Chris.

Hi. I went to Sheffield last week and Chris was superb, not to mention played 'Driving Home for Christmas' too. Very energetic and was the probably the best Chris Rea concert I've been to. The gig just flew by. I've posted some of my photo's and video clips onto the Facebook Chris Rea Fans page.

Hi Richard,

thank you very much for your short report and the link to see the pictures you made. Particularly I did love the picture where the snow is falling on the screen behind Chris playing his Pinky Strat. Very christmasy )

Hi Andrey,
are you sure it's Pinky on the photo?
The snowflakes appeared during 'Julia' and here he played it on his brown Fender.

Hi, of course I am not sure as I did not attend any of these concerts and from the published videos it is often hard to judge which guitar Chris is using.

So that I do easily believe this is Julia played on brown Strat, thanks a lot for your notice.

BTW, concert recording from Newcastle City Hall has superb sound quality, presumably due to the venue acoustics.
