Joe Walsh still his hero?!

Post by Müfo » 03 Aug 2006, 22:22

Till the late 90ies Chris alway mentioned that Joe Walsh is beside Ry Cooder, Lowell George and Randy Newman his big guitar hero and that Walsh`first album is the one that made Chris start playing guitar. And you can listen to the theme of ,,Life`s been good" in some Rea songs ( Joys of Christmas, Deltics, The Hustler, Funk 48 ( there is a song called Funk 49 by Walsh) ). But after his illnes, Chris says that it was especially Charly Patten who brought him to music and made him playing slide. And now I´ve heard the version of ,,Between highway 61 & 49" from the gig this year in Hamburg ( he played it different to the versions he played on the concerts in Luxermburg and Offenbach were I saw him) and what I wanted to say is that he played about 6 minutes the theme of Joe Walshes
,,Rocky Mountain Way". So who is his real hero now... well for me it`s Rea!!!
