Different Songs - Same Titles

Post by imagemkr »

I'm curious if anyone else is curious about the fact that a few of CR's titles are the same over the years, but the songs are different. I know he's redone a lot of tunes with newer versions, but I'm talking about songs that are totally different with the same names. A couple that come to mind are "Texas" - there's one on Water Sign and then a totally different (and better in my opinion) one on Road to Hell. Another is "All Summer Long" - the one on Shamrock Diaries is totally different from the one on King of the Beach. Just seems like there could have been different titles for these songs so it wouldn't be so confusing. Thoughts???

Perhaps we can make a short list?
we have:

- Texas (WS and TRTH)
- ALL summer long (SH and KOTB)
- Guitar street (CR and KOTB)
- Lucky day (OTB and BG)

And I'm not sure about Blue Street. Its an instrumental on Blue Street (Five Guitars), and has words on The Blue Jukebox. I think Blue Miles is the same song done a little differently on Blue Street (Five Guitars) and The Delmonts from HBN, but again not sure.

I've noticed 2 different versions of All Summer Long. And beat me with a stick, I cannot choose which one is better :D
Hmmm, okay after some beating I might slightly favor the KOTB version, more chilled, the way I like.

Guitar Street is basically the same on CR and KOTB, isn't it?

I found that "Que Sera" from Dancing with strangers, and "When you know your hair has been dyed love has died" from Chris Rea have lot in common.
