If you go on YouTube and enter 'Chris Rea live Bucharest 2010', you will get (almost?) the whole concert, including 'Electric Guitar'!

Electric Guitar is amazing. I love it when the man plays a decent solo. He should do it more often.

Great Video!!!!!

A great song, reminds of Soft Top Hard Shoulder in the good old days, and really a new solo that we don't get to hear so often.

Yeah, great song (this new version of "Electric Guitar"); great video shot that night in Bucharest, too! Someone must have prepared some special box to hide his camera to take it in?

I think Electric Guitar was better on Blue Guitars.
This is some how a lighter sounding version of it.

Nevertheless, he played it wonderfully. You rarely see him play like that. If he would only do it more. He's great with his bottleneck, but this was the Chris from '89-'93 all back again. Love it!!!

Hi All,

Here's a good view of Electric Guitar, which will be included in the new album coming out in November, along with the Bio.

There are some excellent videos on this channel, from the gig in Romania:

THanks Lily
I agree I like Electric Guitar on Blue Guitars better !
This is nice but I don't think it translates live as well as most (which are better live).

Good news - although it will be hard to wait till November :?

The inclusion of EG makes me happy and it fits into the picture. This version sounds a bit like Chris' older songs - no wonder that Warner rediscovered Chris and made him an offer he couldn't refuse. If they didn't like his new material they wouldn't have make him sign a new contract. So I expect an album which is maybe more like the old days.

Cheers,

Tobi

Great video of Electric Guitar, you can clearly see CR's new Strat on it.

Hi Jim,
Yes I agree totally, usually the live versions are so much better than the studio ones but maybe you have to be there to appreciate it!

Kev.

Hi Kev
To me it sounds almost like a totaly different song (not good or bad different just different).
Perhaps it's that it can't be performed live the same way ?
Both versions are good I just prefer the one on Blue Guitars.

The style played on live hints back to earlier era of Chris Rea.
Meaning it sounds more like the other hits played during the tour.
Once again clue about throwing the blues era away, and going back closer to mainstream,
which is doggone shame....

Hi Mr Blues,
I know what you mean about the style, that's what I thought too, but I hope you are wrong about throwing away the blues. Still so Far the single had a great chicago shuffle to it so maybe its not all bad :-)

Kev.
