Chris is currently working on a "new" La Passione film. He is doing new filming and recording music. This will be released as a book with multiple DVD's and CD's!!!.

[Update:]
The album is not to be expected this Christmas regrettably... Let's hope soon in the new year! Also no autobiography in the foreseeable future...

What i find a bit strange is that its communicated through this way and still yet not official. I do not mind much but most artist will bring this on there facebooksites or websites first and then to there loyal fans with all kinds of endeavours, of course happy for Bart, i am a great supporter of this site so no complaining, but its a bit odd.

I agree with the point above completely. Strange way to communicate such news, good news that it is, who is the "source" for this sort of information? often wondered that. Still nice to have more new/old material on the way. perhaps he'll redo benny santini next??

I just heard this myself from others as well (let's just say DEEP THROAT) Hopefully not another La Passione false alarm as this is still one of my favorite albums. Plus anything old or new from Chris is welcome. I also heard he'll be selling some branded merchandise.
Rumours of projects get out -sometimes they are accurate sometimes they are not.
Hopefully this one comes to pass.

I remember an interview he did where he said he was never happy w/how the movie turned out.
He felt it was not what he wanted to say. Prhaps after his experience w/Santo Spirito he knows how to get what he wanted now ? He was going to go to the Van Tripp museum Sept. 10 (I can't recall if it was last year or year before) for a special screening of the rerelease. Hopefully this time it will happen!
I know him revisting older projects seems out of character (he's stated he hates going back to old projects) but perhaps he just can't let this one go since it revolves around his favourite stuff -MUSIC & RACE CARS !

I think there will be some new material accompanying this release, as the information clearly states "multiple DVD's and CD's". Let's keep our fingers crossed!

Well, my opinion/impression was that the last time, with Santo Spirito, Chris wasn't going to do any music CD at all until record company asked him to.

wonder will he use any musicians this time to record music as the Santo Spirito was missing them and the results were not too great musically speaking.

Hello all,

Frankly I am kinda of two minds about this. I am from the USA so I have never seen the film La Passione. I am a sports car fanatic so seeing this film that was created by my musical hero holds a certain appeal. However from the music side it's a bit of a let down. In addition I was looking forward to the rumored autobiography.

Chris seems dead set on putting out the "audio books" with each new release. This was interesting at the start for me but is starting to feel played out. You know the old phrase "done to death". In my humble opinion I would happier with a set of well produced songs that have a cohesive vibe, other musicians, that have a bluesy feel but not necessarily a blues record per say. Unfortunately Chris has stated this is exactly what he does not want to do, but for many of us it's about the music. The Santo Spirto Project was interesting but I am not sure I will ever break out those DVD's and watch them again, and to me the accompanying sountracks where just ok. The Santo Spirito Blues CD was very listenable but not indespensible. Personally I could do with a little Chris Rea circa 1986-1992.

With all this being said I will order the new material as soon as it's available...

That for me was also the best Chris!! But the album La passione for me was exceptional from the musical point of view
