Maybe i am speaking before my turn (don't know how to say it in proper English). But can it be a possibility that Chris Rea makes the new La Passione with all sorts of movies and Soundtracks, but also puts with it a digitalized DVD (everything Blue-Ray?) of the "old" or better original La Passione movie in the box. That would be great, but they may be considering this already...

Hi folks,
Isn't La Passione not a kind af musical biography?
I liked to think so, everything is in there Chris is and was... at least if you narrow it down to some small parts.
I can't wait!
But who can here? :D

Hi Ann
C.R. always said it was not about him but please -the similarities are just too many.
I as well think it was loosely based on his life.
I really enjoyed the soundtrack and then enjoyed the movie (even though it's a little "odd")
I also can hardly wait to see what he's done to it.
At least this time I won't have to convert it from PAL tape !

To respond to "veherny's" questions and remarks: the VHS version available is a european version and will not play on american vcr's. Believe me I looked into getting it several times. I researched the intenet about 6 months looking for it on DVD with no luck. I also agree the "La Passione" soundtrack was killer. I replayed the song "Only to Fly" over and over when I first got the cd. Did you enjoy the movie?

Obviously this project means alot to Chris or he would not waste his time re-doing the whole thing. If it comes in book format I assume we will get some cool pictues and history of Ferrari's. Personally I love the old Ferrari Dino's and 308's. In addition I am looking forward to seeing the movie very much. Hopefully we get the original theater version and the new version so we can review and see what Chris's original vision for the film was.

From the musical point of view if there are a few new tunes in the vibe of Girl in Sports Car, Only to Fly, and You Must Follow, that would be nice. However If we get a cd full of incidental soundtrack music and the old tunes that would not move the needle much for me. We'll just have to wait and see.

The movie only was available on Pal tape and never was issued on DVD.
Ocassionaly you'll see one on e-bay but this is someone who did as I did and had it converted from PAL tape to DVD.
I've not heard any thing further on the release.

Hi all,

while there are no news on the new La Passione, I found by accident an Ebay lot with original 1997 press kit for the old La Passione film.

The text in the photo is readable, and there are some amazing notes about Chris's presence at hospital in France in 1994 where he got through 6(!) operations but continued working on this film project he had started back in 1993 (not in 1994 as this paper suggests; there is another decaption - Chris was taken to hospital while being on holiday, not on tour, which ended on July, 7 in Milan on Sonoria Festival)

Looking forward to the news on the remake...

best regards
Andrey
