Hello Paul;

Working on this list right now. There are a few items in the current discography (though by a database error most of the tracklistings got moxed up). Cannot promis when the new items come online, as I am very busy lately ...

Thanks Daniel, what a terrific list you have compiled.

Eventhough I have been a Chris Rea fan for many many years, I had no
idea he had so many albums.

Can you reccomend any which stand out in your opinion.

Thanks again your response is much appreciated.

Welcome Vandy !

I would recommend you those albums:
-water sign
-wired to the moon
-the road to hell (part 1 & 2)
-blue guitars

Those are my favourite ones but somebody else will probably list other albums.Any one will be a good choice anyway

I'd go with Wired to the moon, Dancing with strangers, Road to hell and The blue jukebox first. I think Jukebox is the most accessible route to Chris's new style rather than diving into Stony Road or Blue Guitars.
Just my opinion of course.

Two albums that I didn't liike for years but eventually came to love are On the beach and Auberge. Two real slow burners for me!

Generally speaking, I think Chris was on the top of his game between 1983-1991, went into a relative lull from then until 2002.

Yeah, I agree.
Possibly looking at Blue Guitars as a whole project, I believe this could be a complete view of a unique career.
The Blue Jukebox is a really fine album (to be listened sitting on your favourite armchair, sipping some scotch whisky or whatever you like), soft atmosphere melting with interior rumble.
But - lesson of blues - Hofner Blue Notes is (to me) something spectacular - I can nearly see Miles Davis smiling at Chris's skill.
Let's say the truth; we could spend a real lifetime trying to select some album to delete...
Cheers to every one of you fans throughout the world !

Pleasure of mine, Vandy. Since we all know how much Chris's music means to us, it should be very bad thing not to discuss about.
He deserves that, don't you think so? All that sorts out of pain, it's real life, and Chris put his own experience into music & paintings. SUPERB
Take care and stay connected.
