News about the upcoming tour

Post by Bart »

Chris has started rehearsing for the upcoming tour last week. The first few days there were only Chris, Sylvin and Paul so that they could work out the new songs and where Paul is going to fit in with the old ones. Yes, you've read it correctly; new songs! At least two brand new songs and a couple of old ones that haven’t been played live before! Of course, even the old favorites will have a different edge with the inclusion of Paul Casey in the band. Insiders say we are all in for a real treat! The rest of the band started rehearsing yesterday and they’ll have a week to sort out basic arrangements then they’ll go home for Christmas to learn them and come back on January 6th ready to start rehearsals in earnest. At the moment they are just going through the new songs and where they touch on the old songs it is just to work out where Paul is going to fit into the arrangement.

Hello Jan;

Of course I cannot guarantee anything, I guess you can imagine that! The set list may vary, even when the tour has already started! As I wrote, there will propably be (at least) 2 new songs and one or more oldies that never have been played live before...

From someone who is present at the rehearsals, so I guess this person must be trustworthy…

Well....starting to sound like good thing, this tour.
But let´s wait and see what happens, maybe someone has told Chris
about the criticism and he understands now that he can´t go the same old route :D
Too many good words to add here.

Hi Bart,
Bart wrote:Yes, you've read it correctly; new songs! At least two brand new songs
Does this mean 2 other songs apart from Valentino and Still So Far To Go ?
I hope so the more the better :)

I also believe that Valentino will be not played.
I don´t see it as a live song at all, also it is orchestral song too, so there you go....

Hello Tina;
To be honest, I don't know. All info I have is on the post above and I don't know anything more... As soon as I hear something I am allowed to publish you'll be the first to know!
Tina3 wrote:I hope so the more the better :)
Agree on that one :D
Mr_Blues wrote:Bart, you are the man of the hour, so why don´t you tell us how the thing is???
Well MrB, I have told what I know already :D
elangelo wrote:By the way, I doubt that Valentino can be played live :)
Wasn't that also the expectation of for example "Julia" that it couldn't be played live?!? ;-) I think Chris and the band is able to surprise us once again!
Mr_Blues wrote:BART, WHY DON`T YOU REPLY ANYTHING WHEN A GUESTION IS ASKED OVER HERE????
Well, perhaps because I have also a life other then working on the site 24/7... :? For your info, my girlfriend and I have been away for a couple of days to visit some Christmas markets in Germany, visit my parents, do some Christmas shopping and attend a wonderful Christmas concert of "Guido's Orchestra" ... Too busy to reply over here, sorry!
elangelo wrote:Maybe because Bart already said too much :lol:
Oh no, not at all. The info I have published was meant to be published, otherwise I wouldn't have put t here!

I have another update on the rehearsing (be patient, nothing about a possible set list!) but I am afraid that will have to wait till after Christmas. Shéba and I will be leaving our home tomorrow morning to spend the holidays with our parents and we will only return on the 27th, so I won't be much online the coming days...

Wow that sounds great - I've got front and centre tickets for Oxford for which my step father-in-law (Carolyn's mum's new husband!) will be joining me as his 70-something birthday present 8)
