I know this is hardly comparable with Chris, but I wanted to draw your attention to a young artist Amy McDonnald. I just LOVE her new CD; been playing it A LOT lately! It is just great from start till end; a true musical journey. Anybody agrees? (or disagrees)...
well, what can I say. As far as I know she only released the songs on her debut-album "this is the life" and they are (almost) all brilliant. I simple love "Mr.rock and roll" (my fav) and the lively "this is the life". "L.A." and "Footballers wife" are great as well, up to the Irish themed "the road to home" and "caledonia" (great!). I must admit that some of her songs have taken me some time to get used to (e.g. "barroland ballroom" which I thought at fist was a very strange songs, but now I am loving it). The reason I wanted to bring this to yours attention, is that - although compeletely different then Chris - this is an album witch no tracks I ever skip and I keep playing it... Of course her music is not so "grown-up" (sorry, don't know the proper english term) as Chris' or others, but she sounds young (21 y.o) and refreshing!!
Amy MacDonald a fine young Scottish singer/songwriter.
The Barrowlands in Glasgow has been a meeting place for many many years for some of Glasgow teenagers (my parents for example) it has changed since those days see below a link to its website.
Between the eyes of love I call your name
Behind the guarded walls I used to go
Upon a summer wind there's a certain melody
Takes me back to the place that I know
Down on the beach

Hi Tina,
If I can add some more info to what Bart already wrote.
You can find a few tunes of Amy Macdonald on Youtube, for instance: "Mr Rock & Rall" and "This is the Life."
Enjoy,
Chris
