Hi there!

Being a petrolhead with a passion for vintage cars I was wondering what songs CR wrote about cars or mentioning them in the lyrics. The first thing which comes to my mind is the fabulous La Passione soundtrack (gotta love "Girl In A Sportscar"!). Secondly, there is "Johnny Needs A Fast Car". Oh, and there is a song "I'm In My Car".

What else is there?

You would have to add Suadade, which is Chris`s tribute to Ayrton Senna....

Well, worth mentioning are "Winning", "Daytona" and "Come so far yet still so far to go".

Thanks so far. As I'm just into (re-)discovering the music of Chris Rea, there are some songs I didn't know. But now it is time to build up a collection of his works. Maybe I'll be starting with the Blue Guitars earbook.

I remember the 1st time I listened to Blue Guitars......I didn't like it at all and put it away for 3 months before I listened to it again now I can't get enough of it.
I would love to go back discover Chris's music that would be amazing so much great music waiting for you

"Red" from the Auberge album I think is about the red cars and "Never Been Anyone Quite Like You"
from "The Blue Cafe" is about a racing driver but I'm not sure if it is Schumacher or Senna.

Look for a song called Jordan 191 - a B side on the single Julia (I have it as a B side on the CD).

It is a song based on one of the forst Formula 1 cars designed for Eddie Jordans F1 race Team. Eddie is a big mate of Chris and they have occassionally played together (jamming) at F1 parties as Eddie is a drummer.
